The vehicle's car hire insurance is subject to an insurance excess value : When you collect the car hire at Malta airport, you'll be asked to leave a credit card deposit to the value of the car hire vehicle's insurance excess : EUR 600.00. Providing you return the car hire car undamaged at the end of the rental, this value is returned to your credit card in full. In the unlikely event that you damage the car hire vehicle, your maximum liability is limited to the EUR 600.00 you paid as a deposit. Local car hire taxes & airport charges.
Our car hire rates at Malta airport are fully inclusive of local sales taxes (18.00% in Malta).
Arrival times for your car hire.
Our car hire rates include service on arrival at Malta airport within normal office hours (08:00-18:00). If your flight arrives outside these times, there is a surcharge of EUR 14.00. This car hire surcharge is payable locally on arrival at Malta airport.

Lost car hire vehicle keys.
Vehicle keys are chip-coded and are costly and timely items to replace. If you lose the car hire vehicle's key, you will be obliged to pay for its replacement (approximately EUR 120.00) plus any associated transport costs in connecting you with a new vehicle key. More importantly, your holiday car hire at Malta airport may be seriously affected while you wait for a new key to be prepared for your car hire vehicle. Please take good care of the car hire vehicle key while you're on holiday in Malta!
Off-road or negligent use.
Our car hire vehicles at Malta airport are rented for use on the public highways of Malta. They cannot be used off-road. Although a very rare ocurrance, we'd like you to be aware that damage to the underside of the car hire vehicle, frequently caused by negligent driving or off-road use at Malta airport (we have had occasion to have to lift car hire vehicles out of dried-up river beds!) is your responsibility. Drunk driving a hire car is considered negligent use.
Traffic fines.
Traffic fines, speeding tickets incurred at the wheel of your car hire vehicle at Malta airport are at your own risk.
Vehicle glass & locks.
It is a sad reality that in most holiday resorts in Malta, auto-theft is a day-to-day ocurrance. If you park up the car hire vehicle with personal items inside and, as a consequence, the glass or locks are damaged in an attempt to steal your personal effects, you will be responsible for the associated repair costs to the car hire vehicle. We strongly recommend that you park the vehicle in supervised car parks/garages in the major cities and never leave any personal item inside the car hire vehicle.
The following items can be added to your car hire reservation for Malta airport in Malta :
Child seats
Child seats are suitable for young children from approximately 6 months of age until 2-3 years of age. Child seats are supplied for car hire vehicles from Malta airport on request. There is a charge of EUR 4.25 per day for these seats which is payable on arrival at Malta airport. You must reserve babyseats at the same time as you reserve your car hire.
Booster Seats
Booster seats are suitable for young children from approximately 2 years until 5 years of age. Booster seats are supplied for car hire vehicles from Malta airport on request. There is a charge of EUR 4.25 per day for these seats which is payable on arrival at Malta airport. You must reserve babyseats at the same time as you reserve your car hire.
Additional Drivers
You may add additional drivers to your car hire on arrival in Malta airport. These are payable locally at Malta airport at EUR 4.25 per day.
Buy-out of the Vehicle's Insurance Excess
The car hire vehicles at Malta airport are sold with an insurance excess. This is explained in the section Whats's Not Included? above.Instead of leaving a credit card deposit to cover your car hire insurance excess at Malta airport, you may opt to purchase additional insurance locally to "buy-out" the excess value - effectively removing your liability for vehicle bodywork damage. This option, depending on the car hire vehicle selected, costs between EUR 7.00 and EUR 7.00 per per day. You do not need to prebook insurance excess buy-out, simply decide and pay locally on arrival at the car hire station in Malta airport when you arrive in Malta.
Purchasing insurance excess buy-out is not a "licence to kill" and you will still be responsible for items like tyre, wheel, glasss or damage to the underside of the car hire vehicle. Out-of-hours charges at Malta airport
For arrivals at Malta airport outside of normal office hours (08:00-18:00), there is a supplement of EUR 14.00 payable on arrival in Malta. For arrivals late at night you must provide us with your arrival flight number into Malta airport so the local car hire station can coordinate it's office hours at Malta airport.
