All required car hire insurances
All required car hire insurances like 3rd party responsibility, CDW (Collision Damage Waiver), TW (Theft Waiver) and Bail Bond (where applicable) are included in our car hire rates. The vehicle's car hire insurance is subject to an insurance excess value : When you collect the car hire at Dublin South, you'll be asked to leave a credit card deposit to the value of the car hire excess : (Depending on the type of car you select) between EUR 1100.00 and EUR 3500.00. Providing you return the vehicle undamaged at the end of the car hire, this value is returned to your credit card in full. In the unlikely event that you damage the car hire vehicle, your maximum liability is limited to the car hire insurance excess value. The insurance excess for each car at Dublin South is explained in detail in our section What's Not Included?
Local car hire taxes & delivery charges.
Our car hire rates at Dublin South are fully inclusive of local sales taxes (13.50% in Ireland). In accordance with local legislation, car hire drivers are obliged to pay EUR 1.60 per day. Road fund recovery taxes must be paid on arrival at Dublin South in accordance with local tax laws in Ireland.

Our car hire rates include collection of your car hire inside normal office hours at Dublin South.
The following items are not included in our car hire rates for Dublin South car hire.
Fuel is not included at Dublin South!
The fuel that you consume during your car hire is obviously not included in our our published car hire rates! On arrival at Dublin South, you will be asked to prepay a full tank of fuel. At the end of the hire, simply return the car hire vehicle back to the car hire station at Dublin South as empty as possible.On short hires (3 days or less), we may be able to arrange "full/full" fuelling for your car hire at Dublin South against a credit card deposit. Please ask your reservations agent for further details.
Insurance Excess deposit.
As explained above in What's Included, the car hire vehicle's insurance at Dublin South is subject to an car hire insurance excess deposit (depending on the type of car hire vehicle you select) between EUR 1100.00 and EUR 3500.00. Providing you return the car hire vehicle undamaged, this value is refunded to your credit card in full. In the unlikely event that you damage the car hire vehicle, your maximum liability is limited to the deposit paid.

Lost car hire vehicle keys.
Vehicle keys are chip-coded and are costly and timely items to replace. If you lose the car hire vehicle's key, you will be obliged to pay for its replacement (approximately EUR 200.00) plus any associated transport costs in connecting you with a new vehicle key. More importantly, your holiday car hire at Dublin South may be seriously affected while you wait for a new key to be prepared for your car hire vehicle. Please take good care of the car hire vehicle key while you're on holiday in Ireland!
Off-road or negligent use.
Our car hire vehicles at Dublin South are rented for use on the public highways of Ireland. They cannot be used off-road. Although a very rare ocurrance, we'd like you to be aware that damage to the underside of the car hire vehicle, frequently caused by negligent driving or off-road use at Dublin South (we have had occasion to have to lift car hire vehicles out of dried-up river beds!) is your responsibility. Drunk driving a hire car is considered negligent use.
Traffic fines.
Traffic fines, speeding tickets incurred at the wheel of your car hire vehicle at Dublin South are at your own risk.
Vehicle glass & locks.
It is a sad reality that in most holiday resorts in Ireland, auto-theft is a day-to-day ocurrance. If you park up the car hire vehicle with personal items inside and, as a consequence, the glass or locks are damaged in an attempt to steal your personal effects, you will be responsible for the associated repair costs to the car hire vehicle. We strongly recommend that you park the vehicle in supervised car parks/garages in the major cities and never leave any personal item inside the car hire vehicle.
The following items can be added to your car hire reservation for Dublin South in Ireland :
Child seats
Child seats are suitable for young children from approximately 6 months of age until 2-3 years of age. Child seats are supplied for car hire vehicles from Dublin South on request. There is a charge of EUR 45.40 per rental for these seats which is payable on arrival at Dublin South. You must reserve babyseats at the same time as you reserve your car hire.
Booster Seats
Booster seats are suitable for young children from approximately 2 years until 5 years of age. Booster seats are supplied for car hire vehicles from Dublin South on request. There is a charge of EUR 45.40 per rental for these seats which is payable on arrival at Dublin South. You must reserve babyseats at the same time as you reserve your car hire.
Additional Drivers
You may add additional drivers to your car hire on arrival in Dublin South. These are payable locally at Dublin South at EUR 8.00 per day.
Buy-out of the Vehicle's Insurance Excess
The car hire vehicles at Dublin South are sold with an insurance excess. This is explained in the section Whats's Not Included? above.Instead of leaving a credit card deposit to cover your car hire insurance excess at Dublin South, you may opt to purchase additional insurance locally to "buy-out" the excess value - effectively removing your liability for vehicle bodywork damage. This option, depending on the car hire vehicle selected, costs between EUR 20.00 and EUR 20.00 per per day. You do not need to prebook insurance excess buy-out, simply decide and pay locally on arrival at the car hire station in Dublin South when you arrive in Ireland.
Purchasing insurance excess buy-out is not a "licence to kill" and you will still be responsible for items like tyre, wheel, glasss or damage to the underside of the car hire vehicle. The car hire company may still require you to leave a credit card imprint to cover extensions to your car hire contract or traffic fines. See our section What's Not Included for further details.
