All required car hire insurances
All required car hire insurances like 3rd party responsibility, CDW (Collision Damage Waiver), TW (Theft Waiver) and Bail Bond (where applicable) are included in our car hire rates. The vehicle's car hire insurance is subject to an insurance excess value :
When you collect the car hire at Ierapetra, you'll be asked to leave a credit card deposit to the value of the car hire excess : (Depending on the type of car you select) between EUR 380.00 and EUR 1000.00. Providing you return the vehicle undamaged at the end of the car hire, this value is returned to your credit card in full. In the unlikely event that you damage the car hire vehicle, your maximum liability is limited to the car hire insurance excess value. The insurance excess for each car at Ierapetra is explained in detail in our section What's Not Included?

Our car hire rates at Ierapetra are fully inclusive of local sales taxes (18.00% in Greece).

Fuel is not included at Ierapetra!
The fuel that you consume during your car hire is obviously not included in our our published car hire rates! On arrival at Ierapetra, you will be asked to prepay a full tank of fuel. At the end of the hire, simply return the car hire vehicle back to the car hire station at Ierapetra as empty as possible.
Insurance Excess deposit.
As explained above in What's Included, the car hire vehicle's insurance at Ierapetra is subject to an car hire insurance excess deposit (depending on the type of car hire vehicle you select) between EUR 380.00 and EUR 1000.00. Providing you return the car hire vehicle undamaged, this value is refunded to your credit card in full. In the unlikely event that you damage the car hire vehicle, your maximum liability is limited to the deposit paid.
Insurance Excess values for Ierapetra Values are published in Euros*
Vehicle keys are chip-coded and are costly and timely items to replace. If you lose the car hire vehicle's key, you will be obliged to pay for its replacement (approximately EUR 100.00) plus any associated transport costs in connecting you with a new vehicle key. More importantly, your holiday car hire at Ierapetra may be seriously affected while you wait for a new key to be prepared for your car hire vehicle. Please take good care of the car hire vehicle key while you're on holiday in Greece!
Off-road or negligent use.
Our car hire vehicles at Ierapetra are rented for use on the public highways of Greece. They cannot be used off-road. Although a very rare ocurrance, we'd like you to be aware that damage to the underside of the car hire vehicle, frequently caused by negligent driving or off-road use at Ierapetra (we have had occasion to have to lift car hire vehicles out of dried-up river beds!) is your responsibility. Drunk driving a hire car is considered negligent use.
Traffic fines.
Traffic fines, speeding tickets incurred at the wheel of your car hire vehicle at Ierapetra are at your own risk.
Vehicle glass & locks.
It is a sad reality that in most holiday resorts in Greece, auto-theft is a day-to-day ocurrance. If you park up the car hire vehicle with personal items inside and, as a consequence, the glass or locks are damaged in an attempt to steal your personal effects, you will be responsible for the associated repair costs to the car hire vehicle. We strongly recommend that you park the vehicle in supervised car parks/garages in the major cities and never leave any personal item inside the car hire vehicle.
The following items can be added to your car hire reservation for Ierapetra in Greece :
Baby Seats
Baby seats are suitable for new-born babies until approximately 6 months of age. Baby seats are normally available on car hire vehicles from Ierapetra on request. There is a charge of EUR 1.50 per day for these seats which is payable on arrival at Ierapetra. You must reserve babyseats at the same time as you reserve your car hire.
Child seats
Child seats are suitable for young children from approximately 6 months of age until 2-3 years of age. Child seats are supplied for car hire vehicles from Ierapetra on request. There is a charge of EUR 1.50 per day for these seats which is payable on arrival at Ierapetra. You must reserve babyseats at the same time as you reserve your car hire.
Booster Seats
Booster seats are suitable for young children from approximately 2 years until 5 years of age. Booster seats are supplied for car hire vehicles from Ierapetra on request. There is a charge of EUR 1.50 per day for these seats which is payable on arrival at Ierapetra. You must reserve babyseats at the same time as you reserve your car hire.
Additional Drivers
You may add additional drivers to your car hire on arrival in Ierapetra. These are payable locally at Ierapetra at EUR 2.50 per day.
Buy-out of the Vehicle's Insurance Excess
The car hire vehicles at Ierapetra are sold with an insurance excess. This is explained in the section Whats's Not Included? above.
Instead of leaving a credit card deposit to cover your car hire insurance excess at Ierapetra, you may opt to purchase additional insurance locally to "buy-out" the excess value - effectively removing your liability for vehicle bodywork damage. This option, depending on the car hire vehicle selected, costs between EUR 5.00 and EUR 12.00 per per day. You do not need to prebook insurance excess buy-out, simply decide and pay locally on arrival at the car hire station in Ierapetra when you arrive in Greece.
Purchasing insurance excess buy-out is not a "licence to kill" and you will still be responsible for items like tyre, wheel, glasss or damage to the underside of the car hire vehicle. The car hire company may still require you to leave a credit card imprint to cover extensions to your car hire contract or traffic fines. See our section What's Not Included for further details.
When we confirm your car hire reservation at Ierapetra, you'll receive via e-mail containing a link to your car hire voucher providing full details on how to collect your car hire vehicle at Ierapetra. Just follow the link to print out your own confirmation at home. As a global car hire supplier, we often work with more than one car hire company at each airport in Greece so, even if you have travelled with us before, you should still check carefully the details shown on our car hire confirmation.
Walk-in city centre office. On arrival at Ierapetra, please proceed to the city centre office at the address we indicate on your car hire voucher. Please check your car hire voucher for specific details.

Please note that payment locally is not accepted using debitcards or cash.
In the event that you need to cancel a prepaid reservation, you'll receive a same-day confirmation of your car hire cancellation and a penalty-free refund. Please read the section below titled 'Cancellation' regarding our cancellation policy.
Unlike many of our competitors, we don't seek to profit from your change of plans. If you do need to ammend or cancel your booking with PremierCarJet we simply ask that you notify us as soon as possible, preferrably via e-mail or in writing. Providing your cancellation is processed prior to your planned arrival in Ierapetra, we apply no cancellation charges or administration costs whatsoever. We'll always send you immediate confirmation of your cancellation and, in the event that you have chosen to prepay your car hire at Ierapetra, a prompt and courteous refund.
Curtailling an existing rental If you need to cut-short a current booking, please telephone or e-mail us before you return the car hire vehicle in Greece. We can't promise anything, but we will do our very best to recover the lost rental days value on your behalf. Please note that you must notify us prior to the return of the car to Ierapetra.
No show Our offer to apply no cancellation charges does not include 'no show' (an industry term meaning you simply fail to arrive and give no notice at all of your intention not to honour your rental agreement). If you 'no show', the full value of the planned car rental will be payable as cancellation fees since the car hire company at Ierapetra will have had no opportunity to resell the unused vehicle at such short notice.
